I never heard of the Byrds; it was cool to hear that phrase from India in a totally different style. I personally fell in love with Trane listening to the early Atlantic records, but I do agree that the recordings with Miles Davis’ quartet were out of this world. In the last tunes recorded at that period you can hear how he is already pushing boundaries, going somewhere else.

Between us, I don’t think anyone can listen to Ascension in an unaltered state of consciousness…
